Terms of Service

By accessing or using the GermanBuddy platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and others who access the Service. "GermanBuddy" refers to the platform and its operators.

GermanBuddy is a language learning platform offering structured lessons, vocabulary practice, grammar explanations, interactive stories, and AI-powered pronunciation coaching. Core features are provided free of charge; premium features require a paid subscription.

To access certain features you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Accounts created on behalf of a minor require parental consent.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the platform.
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content.
• Impersonate another person or entity.
• Use the Service to transmit spam or unsolicited communications.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.

All course content, lessons, grammar rules, stories, and educational materials onGermanBuddy are the property of GermanBuddy or its content licensors and are protected by copyright law.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the content for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes only.

Content you submit (such as pronunciation recordings) remains yours. By submitting content, you grant GermanBuddy a non-exclusive licence to use it for service improvement purposes.

Free tier features are available without payment. Pro and Teacher subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. All prices are shown in Euros (€) and include applicable taxes where required.

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. No refunds are issued for partial subscription periods.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon deletion, your data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that specific learning outcomes will be achieved.

Language learning results vary significantly based on individual effort, prior knowledge, and study consistency. GermanBuddy does not guarantee fluency or proficiency within any specific timeframe.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GermanBuddy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

Our total liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to GermanBuddy in the 12 months preceding the claim.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Germany.

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice before changes take effect by posting the updated Terms and notifying registered users by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
